The 24-hour delivery period begins once I have received your complete and usable stereo mix together with the information required for the project.
If I need a corrected file before mastering can begin, the delivery period starts when that usable file is received.
I listen to your mix before mastering. If I hear a technical or musical issue that would significantly compromise the result, I'll contact you rather than blindly process the file.
Mastering can improve a finished mix. It shouldn't be used to hide a problem that would be better corrected before mastering.
You don't need to hit an arbitrary peak level before sending your mix.
What matters is a clean export without unwanted clipping. Don't turn your mix down simply to reach a specific number.
If compression, EQ, saturation or other bus processing is part of the sound and your mix was built around it, keep it.
If a limiter is only there to make the track louder, it's generally better to remove it before sending the mix.
I have professional analog and digital mastering tools available, but there is no fixed chain.
Some tracks benefit from analog processing. Others are better served by precise digital tools — or simply by less processing. The choice is made for the music.
